Japan’s First Yen-Denominated Stablecoin JPYC Goes Live

JPYC, a fintech firm based in Tokyo, has launched Japan’s first yen-backed stablecoin as well as a platform to issue the new token. The stablecoin, with the ticker “JPYC,” went live today and is backed 1:1 by bank deposits and government bonds. It also has a 1:1 exchange rate with the yen, according to an announcement by the company.
